Roles Details

Title: Thephos
Content: Thephos of Carthane is another one of our main characters. He’s a suicidal pig farmer on a spiritual quest. He’s lived a life of trauma at the hands of his evil father and blames himself. He carries the false belief that nothing good will come his way. He journeys to Unturrus, the mountain of power where people who climb it receive powerful magics. The trade off, most people die during the climb, or come back insane. Thephos’ real reason for climbing the mountain is so that he may be killed by a demon that turns people into glass statues, which he believes is the only way for him to become something beautiful in this rotten world.

Voice type needed:
Male - 20.
Medieval English known as Common accent
Character archetype – Meek, numb to most emotions, not expressive. Tone is low, flat, mild, and lacks all aggression. However, in future works, this voice will evolve.

Audition line directions:
In this moment, Thephos is defeated. The old devil (his father) wore him down to the point he’s lost all hope.
In this scene, Thephos can see hope in others and realises how little he sees himself.
Thephos is questioning the woman’s logic.

Audition lines:
I abandoned them. The old devil was right. I’m a pathetic worm.
At least he sees himself as a rose among thorns. I’ve only ever been a beetle, waiting to be crushed.
If this woman has seen what my father did, would she think he deserved peace too?
