We are seeking voice actors for the audiobook version of Michael Michel's "Dreams of Dust and Steel Book 1: The Price of Power." This narrative unfolds in a fantasy realm of swords and sorcery reminiscent of Game of Thrones and delves into profound themes such as self-doubt, guilt, and sacrifice.

Content

Akyris spends his time training with his grandmother, Locastrii, The Mistress of Time, even though he would be rather locking lips with his girlfriend. He’s a typical teenage boy, with a real chip on his shoulder, but has no idea how important he will become in the future. First, he must train.

Siddaia – Akryis’s future self – will also be played. This is the same voice but the tone is slightly more mature, given his world experience. To differentiate between Akryis and Siddaia, Siddaia will have a light Ukrainian accent.

Voice type needed:
Teen boy. 14.
Medieval English known as Common accent and light Ukranian.
Character archetype – Teenage boy, smart as a whip, cranky, but open-minded, in awe at his discoveries. Not child-ish voice.
Similar reference: anger of Mike Wheeler (Stranger Things) with sharp intelligence of Dustin Henderson (Stranger Things) and seriousness of Jace Wayland (Mortal Instruments TV).

Audition line directions:
In this scene, Akyris is realising his training isn’t normal. He’s curious, shocked, and starting to trust his teacher.

In this moment, Akyris is angry. He doesn’t understand his teacher and lashing out at her methods.

Akryis is explaining how he is getting over his difficult lessons.

In this moment, Siddaia is speaking with soldiers. Prophet like

Audition lines:
It’s weird, what we do. I just sit and… something happens. Nothing really… but something still. She’s nicer now, too.

(angry) Why are you being like this? You’re being… like you were before. You’re being mean. Yeah. You are.

At first it hurt so bad… but I just kept allowing it. I focused on being calm, on how easy it could be in the future if I let it happen in the present. I figured if this place is the foundation of creation, well then it’s the foundation of me too.

Siddaia: Whatever you choose to release, consider it a blessing given unto yourself, for you have chosen it. You have chosen to unburden your soul.
