Outskirts is a brown-british comedy-drama, an experience of youth and adolescence in 2008. Taghavi’s narrative debut encompasses his life through the prism of his teenage years. Set in a small town of Potters Bar, Hertfordshire (UK). Where the number one fried chicken shop is at the heart of the town and bossman’s son, Mania and his friends utilize it as a base in their day to day. A portrait of teenage boys growing inside a glided cage, in search of themselves and how they identify as a collective. Their lifestyle influenced by hip-hop culture and UK Grime coming from London. Which feels like a holiday when they visit the city for Mania’s recording studio session in Tottenham and opens their eyes to two different worlds. A coming-of-age film where Mania and his eldest brother Mal grow up under the conditions of a Christian and Muslim household.

Outskirts explores brotherhood through blood and friendships. Giving a musical slice of what was once the small-town nightlife culture to multiple generations and defining the musical fabric of Potters Bar at one moment in time.

On screen age 16. Dark brown hair and clean shaved.

Elmo wants to support and encourage Mania on his musical pathway. Like the role Proof played for Eminem. The first to jump at the opportunity to getting free fried chicken from Mania. Going to London with Mania for his studio session feels like a holiday to Elmo. An eye opener that ethnic communities do exist outside of his small town.

Elmo is Mania's brown brother from another mother, they have a different bond compared to other characters. Elmo also has a relationship with Zed outside of the friendship group.

Salary

Equity Minimum agreement at £120 per day for a 10 plus 1 working day (8 plus 1 if actor is below 18).
