Feature Film. This British-Ghanaian family drama, situated in Accra, Ghana, shifts between present-day 2024 and flashbacks to 2003 and 2007.

Set against a backdrop of magical realism in Accra, this story follows a British-Ghanaian woman who returns after a decade to attend the "death party" her ailing grandfather hosts for himself. Throughout one day of festivities, she must confront the secret that drove her away and the family's enduring silence. Intertwined with Ga folklore and ancestral spirits, this intimate drama explores themes of memory, shame, and the journey back home.

Content
Danielle's older sister. Elegant, capable, dryly funny, and armoured. Isabella is the one who stayed connected, the one who organises, corrects, and keeps up appearances — and the one who, at the crucial moment ten years ago, failed to hear what her little sister was trying to tell her. She carries her own private grief: an infertility ("her condition") that her devout grandmother prayed over at the dinner table when she was nineteen, leaving a wound she covers with scepticism, sharp edges and the occasional wild night out. She rejects the waist beads, the superstitions, the curses — and yet the film catches her, at her grandmother's graveside, closing her eyes and letting a spirit sing to her. Her arc is the collapse of her defences: the discovery of what really happened to Danielle, the guilt of "I'm not your keeper," and the fierce, maternal love that finally says you are home.
