We are casting for two short films for a rail company.

Both films deal with the issue of Level Crossing Safety and are specifically aimed at Under 16’s.

In both films we see Point-of-View content from unseen lads on their smart phones.

In one film we see a girl (Elle) showing off her new, extremely cute puppy. As the film unfolds we discover that we are actually watching a video call with her boyfriend, Jacob, through his eyes. Jacob is walking through a level crossing, absorbed in the conversation.

In the other film a group of friends are filming what feels like ordinary social content and we see two talented lads on bikes doing bunny hops, wheelies and other bike stunts on a level crossing being filmed and directed by their friend.

Elle is aged around 14-15 years old.

The film initially feels like ordinary social content, Elle is showing off her new, extremely cute puppy.
As the film unfolds, we discover that we are actually watching a video call with her boyfriend, Jacob, through his eyes. Jacob is walking through a level crossing, absorbed in the conversation, and we see everything from his point of view as he glances both ways without properly paying attention.

They are warm, likeable and very natural together and their easy affection makes his distraction believable – and allows the danger to arrive as a genuine shock, in the form of a jump scare arrival of a speeding train.

The film relies on the opening feeling like real social content, not an advert so we need performances that are loose, relaxed, conversational and completely comfortable on camera.

Elle is delighted by her puppy, and Jacob is amused by both of them. There is warmth and gentle teasing between the two, with the relaxed ease of a young couple who know each other well.
We also need a performer who can shift from this playful affection to genuine shock and distress as she realises something extremely bad has happened to him.

NB: We are looking for someone who is with an LEA that can turn around the child licence application quickly.
*Shooting in the Nottingham area so someone East Midlands / Midlands based would be beneficial.*
Finally, they do not need to have their own Puppy but they must be comfortable interacting with a real Puppy.
