Primary Theatre Company @ Rage Arts is a dynamic theatre production company dedicated to bringing the magic and joy of live performance directly into schools across the West Midlands.

A highly creative, dynamic, and physical ensemble-led adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s classic tale. This version frames the story through rich character archetypes, prioritising physical storytelling, audience interaction, and a distinct folk-style musicality.
Because the production relies on a tight ensemble, actors will double up on roles and must be highly versatile, comfortable with direct audience address, and possess excellent comic timing. - Dates

Characters Played: MOLE (Principal), GAOLER’S DAUGHTER, BARGE-WOMAN
Gender: Female; the roles carry a young, vibrant, and feminine/neutral energy).
Playing Age: 18–30 (To capture a youthful, child-like innocence).
Role Overview:
Mole: A child on a journey of discovery. He begins the play innocent, naive, and generous, sheltered in the safety of his underground home. As he ventures into the Wild Wood and the world beyond, his eyes are opened, and he grows into a brave, clever, and fiercely loyal friend.
Gaoler's Daughter: A street-wise but graceful young woman working in a harsh prison environment. Sensitive to fine words and manners, she masterminds Toad's brilliant prison break using her wits and a knack for not-exactly-legal tricks.
Skills Required: Excellent physical comedy and clown skills (Mole functions as the innocent child clown archetype). Strong storytelling ability, warm direct address, and good basic singing capability. - Salary
- Fee £631 per week inclusive of agent fees. Local Hire no accommodation will be provided. Tour leaves and returns to Birmingham base each day.
