BREAKDOWN & SELFTAPE INTRODUCTION

Please do not alter audition sides/scenarios. We need to see the exact scenes performed to
help shortlist talent. ● We will not consider submissions without the accompanying scenes
performed.
Story: A family bustles to get their home ready for a big Diwali party. Mom proudly puts out her
homemade mithai — then catches her son happily eating through the arrangement. While she’s
in shock, the doorbell rings: guests already?! Panic — but Dad coolly opens the door to a

Walmart delivery of fresh mithai. The table is saved and laden just as the second bell rings with
the real guests; Mom flashes her hostess smile and slyly nudges the empty Walmart bag under
the tablecloth. Two doorbells: bell #1 = the Walmart delivery save; bell #2 = real guests implied
(never shown).
SLATE: your name, height. location and age (kids). Indicate if you speak any
South Asian languages. A full body (360 degree) shot.

Roles Details

Title
Dad
Content
DAD - 30-45 - Male - SOUTH ASIAN - SOC. Family-oriented, helpful, genuinely involved in the
preparations; excited to celebrate Diwali with his traditions and friends. He loves his family.
Wardrobe Suggestion: festive kurta — celebratory but not over the top; contemporary, with
personality. If you don’t have it right now, please do not worry at all. We will select a talent based
on performance.
Selftape details:
1. Full scene — continuous, two takes. You are finishing decorations while the family
prepares. Clock your wife discovering the child’s sweets crime — one beat of amused, loving
calm and a small reassuring glance → doorbell #1: cross to the “door” with unhurried,
confident purpose and open it as if the arrival is expected → receive the bag from the delivery
person with a warm, satisfied “right on time” acknowledgement → doorbell #2: shift smoothly
into host mode, your “welcome to our home” smile.

2. Please do two takes for the scene above. Take 1 dry/understated (calm efficiency IS the
joke — keep the reassurance very small); Take 2 warmer/more festive (more family warmth
and celebratory energy, while remaining the calmest person in the room).
3. Optional ad-lib: repeat the door greeting with a natural Hinglish welcome (e.g., a warm
“Happy Diwali, thank you bhai!”).
