Story: A family bustles to get their home ready for a big Diwali party. Mom proudly puts out her
homemade mithai — then catches her son happily eating through the arrangement. While she’s
in shock, the doorbell rings: guests already?! Panic — but Dad coolly opens the door to a
Walmart delivery of fresh mithai. The table is saved and laden just as the second bell rings with
the real guests; Mom flashes her hostess smile and slyly nudges the empty Walmart bag under
the tablecloth. Two doorbells: bell #1 = the Walmart delivery save; bell #2 = real guests implied
(never shown).
SLATE: your name, height. location and age (kids). Indicate if you speak any
South Asian languages. A full body (360 degree) shot. - Dates

MOM - 30- 40 - Female - SOUTH ASIAN - Speaking Hinglish. A blend of traditional and
modern; warm, family-oriented, friendly; genuine pride in her Diwali traditions — she has been
carefully building this celebration, and the homemade mithai is personal.
Wardrobe Suggestion: Suggest wearing a south asian festival wardrobe for the audition. If you
don’t have it right now, please do not worry at all. We will select a talent based on performance.
Selftape details:
1. Hinglish line — 3 reads. “Everyone will love my ghar ki Diwali mithai…” (a) proud
and bustling, straight through; (b) tapering off mid-line as you spot something wrong
across the room; (c) your own natural spin.
2. Full scene — continuous, You are arranging the final sweets for your Diwali party.
Deliver the Hinglish line proudly while working → turn and discover your child has eaten
half your mithai arrangement — let the “My mithai!” dismay land → doorbell #1 (reader:
“DING-DONG”): eyes snap up, a second, bigger shock — the guests are early?! → off-
camera, your husband reveals it’s the Walmart delivery — register the relief → doorbell
#2: snap into a radiant hostess smile and slyly nudge an imaginary shopping bag under
the table.
3. Please do two takes for the scene above. Take 1 grounded (contained, domestic —
the humour is in precise thought changes); Take 2 heightened (festive energy and
reaction size up one notch — let the panic pop, recover fast, no melodrama). - Salary
