STEVIE is an intimate psychological drama with elements of magical realism, exploring desire, guilt and the possibility of second chances.
Stevie, a former university lecturer whose life has unravelled, discovers that he can seemingly manifest whatever he desires. Money, possessions and even his physical appearance become his to change.
But when Maya — the woman he loves — unexpectedly appears in his flat, Stevie's extraordinary new reality begins to take a darker and increasingly unsettling turn.
The film moves from dark humour and magical realism into an intimate and emotionally charged confrontation between two people with a complicated shared history.

Maya is warm, intelligent, confident and emotionally perceptive.
She and Stevie share a deep history, with the humour, attraction, private jokes and shorthand of two people who know one another intimately.
Her unexpected appearance initially restores that warmth and familiarity before she gradually forces Stevie to confront parts of their shared past that he would rather leave buried.
The role requires warmth, humour, emotional intelligence, strong screen presence and considerable dramatic range. The chemistry between Maya and Stevie is central to the film.
Shortlisted actors will be sent audition sides and asked to submit a self-tape. Final candidates may subsequently be invited to a chemistry read. - Salary
