We are back for our fifth year onboard steam trains at heritage railways, throughout the United Kingdom!

Come and join the festive fun for a unique and immersive theatrical experience on board moving vintage steam trains. We are seeking enthusiastic, versatile, and high-energy performers to bring Christmas magic to life for thousands of families across the UK.

Location

We are currently recruiting performers for our Santa's Steam Train Adventure production, departing from Ribble Steam Railway & Museum (PR2 2PD) in Preston.

Local Residency Requirement: We are looking for performers who are locally based in Lancashire or who are happy to base themselves locally or within easy travel distance for the duration of the run (please note that travel and accommodation are not provided for this specific venue).

Elf

Content

A dynamic, high-energy performer who brings festive magic to life both on the station platform and on board the train! Alongside general elf performance, carolling, and audience interaction, one elf will operate a character puppet on the platform (please see attached photo) to greet families, create magical photo opportunities, and build excitement before boarding. No specialist puppetry experience required, training will be provided and this role can be rotated between the elves.

** when applying please note any previous elf or puppetry experience.

Costume: Full, high-quality elf costume will be provided (performer will ned to provide own boots/shoes and white, long sleeve, roll neck top).

Styling: Performers may be asked to style their hair and wear festive make up for the character.

Salary

Contract Fee: £1,440 Lunch Fee: £7.50 per day Moving Train Performance: Performers must be comfortable working on moving trains with narrow aisles and in close proximity to audiences.
