Storyline: After being kidnapped by his trusted karate instructor, 10-year-old Jody Plauché becomes the center of a case that would captivate the nation when his father kills the abuser on live television. Decades later, Jody and those closest to him revisit the events that shattered their family, revealing a story of grooming, betrayal, and survival that challenges one of America's most enduring true-crime myths.

TRIGGER WARNING - This is a true crime docuseries that by nature of the crime explores very sensitive subject matter that involves kidnapping and sexual abuse of a child, and the murder of their abuser. There are no scenes in the re-creation that explicitly depict violence or assault. However, performers cast in the roles specifically outlined in the individual breakdowns may be portraying real people who were victims or perpetrators. Talent submitted for these roles must be comfortable with this subject matter and with portraying these individuals. Please only submit performers who are comfortable with these requirements. A strong physical resemblance to the reference photos is required. Production is prioritizing performers whose appearances closely match the real-life subjects, including facial features, hair and eye colour, age, and overall look. This is all set in the 80s, and there will NO use of wigs in this project. Man; 30 to 39 years old; White.Short in height and has a slim build with a slightly pronounced belly, 5’3 & 145-155lbs. Dark brown hair, blue eyes, fair skinned with a round shaped face and facial hair. He is the father of Young Jody. A blue-collar father with an everyman appearance and a fierce sense of devotion to his family. Quiet, reserved, and emotionally contained. He carries himself with a calm and stoic demeanor, but is easily pushed to the edge when the well-being of his family is threatened. Driven by outrage and grief, he goes to great lengths to defend and protect his son Jody by fatally shooting his abuser.
