Storyline: After being kidnapped by his trusted karate instructor, 10-year-old Jody Plauché becomes the center of a case that would captivate the nation when his father kills the abuser on live television. Decades later, Jody and those closest to him revisit the events that shattered their family, revealing a story of grooming, betrayal, and survival that challenges one of America's most enduring true-crime myths.

TRIGGER WARNING - This is a true crime docuseries that by nature of the crime explores very sensitive subject matter that involves kidnapping and sexual abuse of a child, and the murder of their abuser. There are no scenes in the re-creation that explicitly depict violence or assault. However, performers cast in the roles specifically outlined in the individual breakdowns may be portraying real people who were victims or perpetrators. Talent submitted for these roles must be comfortable with this subject matter and with portraying these individuals. Please only submit performers who are comfortable with these requirements. A strong physical resemblance to the reference photos is required. Production is prioritizing performers whose appearances closely match the real-life subjects, including facial features, hair and eye colour, age, and overall look. This is all set in the 80s, and there will NO use of wigs in this project. ALL PERFORMERS MUST BE WILLING TO HAVE THEIR HAIR CUT AND/OR STYLED TO MATCH THE PERSON THEY ARE PORTRAYING (see photo references by clicking on “View Attachment”). Everyone must match the general size and body type of the person they are portraying. Facial hair for men must also match. Boy; 8 to 12 years old; White.Appearing 11 years old. Lean build, 4’2 & 80lbs. Dirty blonde hair, brown eyes, and a classic late 1970s to early 1980s style haircut. A bright, energetic, and kind-hearted boy with a passion for karate. Trusting and polite, he looks up to the adults in his life and approaches the world with youthful curiosity and enthusiasm. His innocence and resilience are tested by a traumatic abduction. His courage and vulnerability are central to the story. IMPORTANT: MUST BE ATHLETIC AND PROFICIENT IN HAPKIDO STYLE KARATE. Must also be comfortable with having their hair dyed dark brown or black with a temp dye (Jody’s abductor died his hair to conceal his identity) Notice: Kids will not be in any scenes depicting any violence or abuse. There will be a designated AD on set to take care of the children that will ensure child labour laws are followed, filming will take place dearing summer break so no tutoring required. The parents will always be in plain view of set and have a designated monitor for just them. Note: Face will not be seen clearly. Guaranteed Shooting Days: 3, and up to 5 days (TBC). RATE: $1000/ day
