Rafael is in his mid - late 70's
This is a non dialogue role - Rafael was the man who fixed things. Cars, fences, his neighbors’ water heaters, his grandkids’ bicycles. He was proud, capable, and not particularly talkative. Rafael is experiencing agitation in dementia due to Alzheimer’s. He appears lost in thought, eyes fixed on nothing, growing increasingly frustrated and frantic. The transitions are sudden, quick shifts from one emotion to the next, from stillness to motion. His hands go to his head. His jaw sets. He paces hard, turns suddenly,

reverses direction. There are moments where he appears to be silently yelling at someone who is not there, fists in the air. None of this is who Rafael was. He has been a steady, quiet man his whole life. The disease is pulling something out of him that he does not recognise, and on some level he knows it.
