Dr. Barry Thacker is the psychiatrist to Mark (the film's protagonist) — intelligent, measured, and disarmingly warm.
He appears in standard therapy sessions in the first half of the film, but takes on a far more sinister role in a surreal late-film confrontation where the rules of reality no longer apply.
Thacker must feel genuinely trustworthy before he becomes something else entirely — the horror depends on it.
Seeking an actor with natural authority, dry wit, and the ability to shift seamlessly from clinical warmth to something deeply unsettling. - Salary
