Adam

Content

Adam (male, 18–24, playing age 20) is a lonely, awkward young man who can’t hold down a job, can’t connect with people his own age, and still clings to his mum like a child. Mixed with feelings of shame, longing, and anger, he can go from tender to explosive in a heartbeat. He sees himself as a lost cause, doomed to be someone who does evil someday. He is the characterisation of the worrying incel movement.

The role needs real emotional range, including breaking down on camera, sudden shifts in temperament and long stretches of silent, internal performance. Strong close-up screen presence is essential, as much of the story plays out on Adam’s face. The film deals with violence and suicide; nothing is graphic on screen and the only prop weapon is an obvious toy. Paid £120 + travel (local travel allowance), transport between locations paid and organised. All day, 10am–5pm, Sunday 22 November.
