Charli, a 41-year-old Black man, works as a digital archivist in the basement of the Los Angeles Herald. Having abandoned human connection years earlier, he leads a solitary life. However, everything shifts when he encounters May, an energetic woman, at an art gallery. As their friendship deepens, May inspires Charli to rekindle his love for photography and assists him in arranging clandestine art exhibitions in the Herald's basement.
