Panto - A Goole Christmas Carol

Theatre York Apply by 24th September 2026, 17:00
Content
A Goole Christmas Carol is a brand-new, locally rooted pantomime inspired by Charles Dickens’ classic festive tale. Set in and around historic Goole, the production combines traditional panto comedy, audience participation, popular songs, local references and plenty of Christmas magic. At its heart is a warm, uplifting story about community, kindness and the possibility of change—told with big characters, quick transformations and a distinctly Goole sense of humour.

The production is presented by Junction Goole Productions Limited, the company behind Junction’s growing programme of locally produced theatre. This will be our fourth annual pantomime and our fifth production overall, building on the success of previous shows created especially for Junction’s audiences. We expect the production to play to approximately 3,500 people, including families, schools and community groups from Goole and the surrounding area.

CASTING DETAILS:

We are particularly keen to hear from actors based locally or within the wider Yorkshire and Humber region. As this is a fast-paced, multi-role production, we are looking for generous ensemble players with strong physical performance skills, excellent comic instincts and a collaborative approach.

Casting will take place by audition at Junction Goole and will include script work alongside singing and dance. You will be asked to prepare a short vocal piece as part of the audition.
