We’re looking for a male voice actor aged 18+ for a role in an upcoming animated project for BBC Education.
We’re looking for a voice that feels youthful, warm and innocent, without sounding like a child. The character is intelligent and knowledgeable, but inexperienced when it comes to people and emotions. He is literal, precise, friendly and slightly socially awkward, with a gentle deadpan quality.
The voice should feel human rather than overtly robotic. There will be some electronic treatment added in post, so we’re not looking for a stereotypical robot voice.
British accent essential. A light tenor / youthful quality would be ideal, with good comic timing and the ability to bring warmth, sincerity and personality to the character.
As a tonal reference, Baymax from Big Hero 6 is a useful guide — particularly his warmth, innocence and matter-of-fact delivery, rather than trying to sound like a robot.
At this stage, we’re just looking for expressions of interest. If you feel you might be a good fit, please send your name, age, location, voice reel or showreel. We’ll then be in touch with selected actors with further information and self-tape instructions.
The pay is £300 including all usage, this is for a 1 day record at a studio (preferably in London), or can take place at a home studio if set up.
