We are seeking an actor to portray Stalin in an art-house film with aspirations of being featured at festivals. Cast members will receive credit, as well as access to footage and still photographs.

Stalin does not appear in this film as history. He appears as a dream. Our protagonist, meets him three times in sleep — at a dinner table, in a tv interview room, in a place that is neither — and each time Stalin is courteous, unhurried, and impossible to wake from. He is not a tyrant in these scenes; he is a host, a confidant, almost a friend, which is exactly what makes him frightening. The dead dictator has all the time in the world, and he knows something about the dreamer that the dreamer does not.

Appearance: Georgian, Caucasus, Middle Eastern, Eastern European, or Mediterranean features; short to medium height, stocky or heavy build, dark or greying hair. The mustache, the uniform, the age — all of that we build. What we cannot build is the calm.
English dialogue; a light accent is welcome, not required. Theatre experience is a real asset. Actors of Iranian, Armenian, Georgian, Turkish, and Slavic backgrounds especially encouraged.
