Please see our casting information for a new audio musical drama series 'The Order of Chaeronea' - we are looking for expressions of interest for consideration for the parts included in this posting.
The audio drama is being made in Glasgow, Scotland and prefer that actors have a base in the city or elsewhere in Scotland.
Produced by Sanctuary Queer Arts and Tin Can Audio, “The Order of Chaeronea” is a new musical audio drama series based on historical research which explores homosexuality and early-activism in the late Victorian era. With 8, 30-40 minute episodes, the series follows historical figure George Cecil Ives as he gathers his peers to discuss queer classical stories and mythology and tries to form his own secret society dedicated to decriminalising homosexuality (The Order of Chaeronea). Written as a cross between a queer history podcast and audio-fiction, the series also follows the trial and imprisonment of Oscar Wilde, highlighting sex-scandals, relationships and discussions relevant to today's discourse around queerness. There will be two original songs per episode which musicalise queer twists on mythological stories and these will also be released as a soundtrack album alongside the audio series.
There is a potential for an album concert event for Pride during June 2027 which the cast will have first refusal to take part in. Separate contract negotiated when funding is confirmed.
Content Warning:
The series features discussion of sex, homophobia, transphobia, incest, lack of body autonomy and imprisonment. - Dates

Kit Goddard is Ives' childhood friend and live-in butler-turned-lover. A close confidant of Ives, we see them share secrets alone after Ives' friends are gone, however Kit is very aware of his lower social standing within the dynamic. Kit eventually marries, bringing his wife to live with him and Ives, meaning he has to balance two sources of affection and attention. The actor will also voice George Merrill, the partner of Edward Carpenter. Merrill was a working class manual worker, and was officially also Carpenter’s “servant” but they lived fairly openly as a couple in Sheffield for many years. Merrill is cheeky, confident and brings energy to Carpenter's more calm demeanor.
