We are organizing a staged roundtable discussion focusing on the topics of weight gain, weight loss, and weight loss medications. This discussion will specifically address individuals who have found it challenging to shed excess pounds due to factors such as age, hormonal changes, or medical conditions. The three personas we aim to depict are as follows:

Emotional Eater:
In their mid-30s to mid-40s, this individual exudes warmth and self-awareness, yet grapples with intense internal struggles. They experience a mental tumult surrounding food, caught in a cycle of stress-eating, and face the weariness of understanding their actions but struggling to change them.

Biological Struggler:
Aged 40 and above, this persona embodies composure but is quietly weary of skepticism from others. They carry a contained frustration stemming from experiences with conditions like perimenopause, thyroid issues, or PCOS. Often told their challenges are a matter of willpower, they feel dismissed as their body defies their intentions.

The Boomerang:
In their 40s, this individual has encountered previous disappointments and refuses to be easily persuaded by quick fixes. They have experienced the ups and downs of yo-yo dieting and the disheartening cycle of regaining weight. This persona is cautious about attempting weight loss again, haunted by the fear of starting over and concerned about others perceiving them as having failed.

Time: up to 8 hours shooting time
Location: London, inside/ around the M25
Rate: £400 - £600 plus travel

Casting three female actors, two actors will film from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (8 hours of shooting) and be paid a £600 flat rate. One actor will film from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (4 hours of shooting) and be paid a £400 flat rate.

Story: The fear of admitting you are back at the start, the “everyone will think I failed” story, starting again after stopping (restarting is where shame is the loudest).
