Casting for "The Promise," a short film. Logline: A woman of the frontier faces the harsh reality of burying her husband and daughter in the barren desert, left only with a sealed letter and a daunting pledge—to traverse the desert alone into Mexico to secure her late husband's inheritance. Written, directed, and performed by Mel Christopher, "The Promise" delivers a raw and intimate solo performance exploring themes of grief, faith, survival, and the price of honoring a promise when all that once mattered is lost. Aiming for screenings at Sundance, Cannes, Tribeca, and SXSW.
