We are seeking two versatile actors for our adaptation of the Greek tragedy, Antigone. This production explores Creon, the new ruler of Thebes, as he attempts to restore the city following a devastating war. His inflexible leadership is challenged when Antigone defies him to pay tribute to her deceased brother, sparking family conflicts that anger the gods. Amidst these tensions, the fate of Thebes hangs in the balance.

Candidates should be prepared to tackle multiple roles, have the capability to memorize substantial portions of dialogue, and preferably possess experience in naturalistic acting styles.

30th January 2027 - Alma Tavern and Theatre, 18-20 Alma Vale Road, Bristol BS8 2HY

REHEARSAL DATES AND VENUE:

Rehearsals will take place on weekends from 3rd October 2026 - 14th November 2026 (followed by a sporadic midweek date) at the Artsite, The Post Modern, Theatre Square, Swindon SN1 1QN

Ismene - Sister of Antigone, wants to help Antigone defy Creon's rule but is scared of the consequences.
Teiresias - A prophet and advisor to Creon, warns of a dangerous future for Thebes.
Guard - A guard under pressure to find a culprit.
Eurydice - Wife of Creon.
Advisor 2 - A political advisor to Creon.

Actor must be comfortable learning large chunks of text and multi-rolling. Open for actors 18 and over.
