Title

Content
Character
Myra is worn down by George's control, but she is not defined only by victimhood. She measures danger constantly and protects Danny through whatever choices remain available to her. Her attempt to keep money for his present, and the later gift of the candy necklace, reveal love, pride and resistance beneath fear.

Dramatic journey
In the opening confrontation Myra must decide whether speaking will protect Danny or make the situation worse. George takes the money, but she later finds a small way to give Danny something of his own. That gesture carries her tenderness into the rest of the film when Danny passes the necklace to Michelle.

Performance brief
• Exceptional non-verbal acting. Myra's thought process must remain legible even when she cannot safely speak.
• Able to hold fear, shame, love and calculation simultaneously without leaning into melodrama.
• A grounded working-class presence with warmth beneath exhaustion.
• A believable maternal connection with Danny is essential; the relationship should contain familiarity, not sentimentality.

Casting priorities
We are seeking emotional precision rather than visible fragility. Myra should feel like a full woman surviving a coercive environment, not a generic suffering mother.
Salary
£250 for one shoot day. Any applicable holiday pay will be clearly itemised in the contract. Travel and expenses will be agreed separately in advance.
