First Play Club is The Customs House's annual programme that brings together emerging and established creatives to develop and stage a brand-new professional production. Now in its fourth year, the initiative has supported writers, designers, composers, performers and technicians to create exciting new work rooted in North East stories.

This Year's Production: Bundled
Written by North East writing duo Jamie Brown and Lynne Hall, Bundled is a gripping comedy-thriller exploring greed, deception and survival:
When aspiring actress Becky is rescued from harassment by an old school friend, she soon discovers she's walked into something far more dangerous. Kidnapped and held for ransom by men with conflicting motives, Becky must rely on her quick thinking, acting skills and determination to outwit her captors. As the clock ticks down and loyalties shift, Bundled becomes an unpredictable, darkly funny thriller about power, fear and the lengths people will go to for money.

Dates

Auditions will be on 5 and 6 August at The Customs House from 10.00-5.00pm, and in person only.
Rehearsals are from 25 August-8 September from 10.00am-5.00pm at The Customs House, with performances on 9-11 September in the Main Auditorium, The Customs House.
