Big Brum is seeking to appoint two Actors to join our current team and take part in our upcoming Theatre in Education tour of Edward Bond’s ‘The Broken Bowl’. Big Brum’s tour of ‘The Broken Bowl’ celebrates the unique collaboration of over 20 years between the Company and the playwright, which resulted in this and nine other new plays for young people, “a body of work, written mostly for young people, that stand alongside his classic plays, such as Lear and Saved” (Lyn Gardner, The Guardian).
Big Brum is an internationally renowned Theatre in Education Company, that takes high quality theatre and drama to young people in areas of high deprivation. Edward Bond said, “Big Brum reminds me why I first became a dramatist – and shows its audiences why drama matters… Big Brum is magnificent.”

This is a full-time post for 24 weeks, Monday 16th November 2026 to Friday 30th April 2027, with a possible contract extension to the end of May 2027. Holiday pay is included. The successful candidate will be required to pass an Enhanced DBS check and complete on-line training modules on Safeguarding and Health & Safety.

Standard week is 37 hours, with rehearsal hours between 9.00am and 5.00pm.

Professional experience of acting, touring and working with young people is highly desirable.
