His Daughter (Part 1)

Type
Film (Short / Student)
Location
Hamilton
Content
Project Type: Indie Short Film Genre: Historical Drama / Psychological

Logline: Set in August 1970 during a high-profile murder trial, a shattered father confronts his detached, unremorseful daughter in a prison visitation room, forcing both to face the traumatic collapse of their family history. This is the first part of the short film. Will probably need the same actress for the second part.

Location: Hamilton Ancaster Memorial Arts Center, 357 Wilson St E, Ancaster, ON L9G 2C1

Compensation: Non-union. Not a paid position. Food will be provided, a pizza or Tims.

Director/Writer: London Boisvert

Based on: A True Story (The 1970 Tate-LaBianca murder trial)

Where will this be?: Won't be released to YouTube or the Movie Database for some time, unknown release.

Production Notes: This is a highly focused, claustrophobic character piece. The entire weight of the film rests on the psychological tension, micro-expressions, and emotional pacing between the two leads. Actors must be comfortable working closely with intense, dark, and traumatic thematic material.
