Casting call for four actors proficient in both English and isiXhosa for the short film "And So I Am."
Fluency in isiXhosa is not required.

Synopsis: The story centers on Xholani, a teenager from London who escapes from his Ulwaluko initiation rite out of fear, as he has never truly embraced the tradition. His estranged father, Phila, embarks on a search for him in the South African bush, leading to an emotional confrontation where they explore themes of identity, masculinity, and cultural belonging. As they make their way back, father and son start to bridge the gap between their heritage and personal identity.

Much like Solomon, Sizwe is a traditional Xhosa man. Indoctrinated with the common pillars of a particular form of masculinity. Rigidity, intensity and strength. Quite open with his look, can see him having a slimmer build. Perhaps more rough around the edges in terms of him not focusing on his appearance as much as the other men.
