VFS PRESENTS: Hotteok - a short film centered on Korean traditions and the impact of a bond mother/daughters carry beyond their lives.

After a long battle with a terminal illness, Amy dreams one day of the hotteok she ate in Korea. After hearing about it, Jenny tries to make hotteok herself, hoping to bring back the taste of a forgotten memory for her mother. But as Amy's health continues to decline, Jenny is forced to face the reality that her time with her mother is running out.

Additional Information & Safety Protocols:
-Amy must have Korean as her native language. If your English isn't that good, that's ok! We have a Korean director. There is no English dialogue for her in the story.
-Jenny is raised in Canada, so ideally we're looking for bilingual actors fluent in both English and Korean. Preferably no foreign accent in English, but we're open to proficiency there.
-We are handling food and ingredients on set (featuring the Hotteok), so please inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions!
-Amy has a medical episode akin to a seizure or heart attack in one scene. We plan to handle that blocking with care and caution. If you're not physically able/comfortable with that, let us know so we might consider alternatives.
