Summary of the Story:

Ellie never imagined that two dreadful events could occur on the same day. First, she mistakenly shares her first kiss with Jax, her childhood adversary and the school's star football player. Secondly, her first boyfriend betrays her by cheating.

To her surprise, when her unfaithful boyfriend tries to publicly embarrass her by reading her relationship checklist, Jax steps in and claims to be her new boyfriend to save her from humiliation. Though Ellie is not keen on pretending to date her long-standing rival, a cascade of misunderstandings leads to rumors of their "relationship" spreading throughout the school. Consequently, they decide to become contractual boyfriend and girlfriend for one semester to address their own issues.

While Ellie is convinced she could never develop feelings for Jax, the more time they spend together, the more she starts to recognize that the boy who has tormented her since childhood could be someone entirely different.

A high school student who wears thick-framed glasses. In the eyes of the entire school, she is the boring girl who only studies. However, inside she is actually a girl who dares to love, dares to hate, and dares to fight back.
Ellie has high expectations for love and is somewhat naïve about relationships. She hopes to be treated sincerely and seriously, but because of the “nerd” label she also carries a certain level of insecurity.
After her cheating first boyfriend betrays her, she is forced to pretend to be in a relationship with her childhood nemesis Jax — the very person who has enjoyed teasing her since they were kids, yet also the only person who steps forward without hesitation when she is at her most embarrassed.
Ellie believes this fake relationship will not change how she views Jax. But as the two repeatedly grow closer, she gradually realizes that her childhood rival may also be her knight — and she cannot help but start falling for him.
