We are casting a short film called 'Grief Cafe', that will shoot in Soho for half a day on the 25th April 2026.

'Grief Cafe' is being made as part of the 12 - 12 Film Challenge:
Shooting 12 short films in 12 months to get working class filmmakers back on set with the help, support and kindness of the film industry and beyond.

Whilst trying to find a community amongst a peer of grieving people - a young woman finds community with the help of a perceptive stranger, who helps her realize she may not have to carry her grief all alone.

Getting on set as a working class filmmaker is a hot topic in the industry and it's getting tougher to survive, but this film challenge will break those barriers by pursuing incredible scripts shot by fierce filmmakers.

We use what we have and we source what we don't have in the hopes of support and in-kind offers. Fealy Films covers transport and food which leads to greenlighting the short films chosen through script submissions. The aim is to have an elevator system and use multiple skill levels so everyone on set is gaining experience and progressing to their next level in the industry. We will partner with charities, local youth clubs, communities and colleges as well as attaching established filmmakers. By the end of the 12 short films, Fealy Films will try to find a home for all 12 shorts on a streaming platform as a collection as well as each individual having their own festival run. Each film is not alone but stands strong as one of twelve shorts that completed the 12-12 Film Challenge. There is also an ongoing crowdfunder to cover additional costs.
