I'm looking for a male presenting ACTOR or MOVEMENT ARTIST or MIME to take part in an LGBTQ+ stage play in June, set in real-time during one particularly disastrous Halloween party. The role in question is that of a CLOWN MANNEQUIN.

He spends the majority of the piece standing statue-still, so this needs to be something you are comfortable with and be able to do with conviction. We want the audience to believe that this is a genuine mannequin. Until it becomes clear that he is not.

There is some dialogue involved. For this, you would need to adopt "a cruel, mocking, gleefully evil, manipulative, almost-hypnotic" speaking/shouting voice.

The CLOWN is on stage throughout almost the entire piece.

And although he has the least to do of the six characters - less dialogue, less movement - he is the TITLE CHARACTER, which might appeal to those looking to bolster their CV.

A nightmarish and bloody clown mannequin. A cheese-wire grin, and bloodied entrails spilling out. A cursed freak. Always watching, always listening. Absorbing. Predicting.

When he talks – sorry, spoilers! – he speaks in a cruel, mocking, gleefully evil, manipulative, almost-hypnotic way.

Salary

Unfortunately, any money from ticket sales (after box office/production company split) will be divided up between all creatives, which means the successful artist will only earn somewhere between £50 and £100. It's pocket money, and I really wish I could offer more. But the role is ideal for those seeking experience and a 'title character' credit for their CV.
