Kai Abara, aged 17, is the composed, battle-ready leader of a teenage vampire-hunting crew known as The Tribe. Slightly older and more experienced than Billy, Kai carries himself with quiet authority — he doesn’t need to raise his voice to command attention. Strategic, disciplined, and highly skilled in combat, he approaches every situation with focus and control, often acting as the stabilising force within the group. Beneath his calm exterior lies the weight of responsibility; Kai has seen more than most his age and has had to grow up fast in a dangerous world. He challenges Billy, pushing him to prove himself, but ultimately becomes a crucial ally in the fight against the vampire threat. Kai represents what Billy could become — confident, capable, and fearless — but also hints at the personal cost of living a life defined by constant battle.
