A seasoned Red Cross nurse with wartime service across Europe, North Africa, and the Far East. After surviving a traumatic sea battle in the North Sea, she relocates to the United States and undergoes therapy for shell shock (Dr Bailey). Erika is sharp, resilient, and accustomed to earning respect in a male-dominated military world. Beneath her strength lies vulnerability and an air of mystery, as if something deep within her has been awakened by the war.
