We are casting actors for a new Short-Film from a great team.

Facing mounting fines and on the brink of losing her job, a single mum makes a last-ditch attempt to get her distressed daughter into school.

Unauthorised Absence is a social realism drama about a mother and a school caught in an awful conflict over securing statutory support for her yet-to-be-diagnosed autistic daughter. The story is firmly rooted in the lived experience of thousands of families with neurodivergent children in the UK, and written by a SEND mum as part of a wider campaign to change the law.

➡️ We are particularly interested in hearing from talent with lived experience of the school SEND system, parents and caregivers and also actors who identify as Neurodiverse.
