Casting Call for a feature film, seeking an actor to play the role of Ike, Male (45-55)

We are shortlisting from Showreels followed by self-tape auditions.

We are seeking UK Talent for a shoot in Romania (approx. 40 day shoot)

Project Synopsis
In a neon-noir world, we follow the story of Leon and his estranged father Ike (aka King Wray) - a notorious cult musician who concealed his face with a mask. After a drug-induced accident, Ike confined himself to a wheelchair for life. He abandons young Leon, and Meg – King Wray’s record label owner – convinces Ike to cover up the accident – thus King Wray disappears into oblivion, becoming a legend. Twenty years later, lonely Leon – a wanna-be musician who moonlights in a non-stop kiosk - tries to contact Ike with the news of his mother’s ailing health, hoping they will re-connect. Meg’s senses opportunity and when they meet, Ike makes Leon an outlandish proposal. To wear the mask and imitate him onstage, while he sings from behind the scenes - together faking a King Wray comeback. Craving musical success and validation from his father, Leon agrees, and they set off on a nationwide tour. It begins well as Leon rises to the challenge and they forge a bond, but he soon realises that Ike’s motives for re-connecting are completely selfish. Leon begins to take over, while Ike feels redundant and becomes jealous, refusing to relinquish control. He considers Leon a direct threat to his identity, and they clash, sending the tour into mayhem. In a bid to save the show, Meg betrays Ike and offers Leon the chance to continue his father’s legacy and go solo as King Wray. Leon must choose between having a father or the mirage of fame. Instead, he chooses neither, blowing the lid of the entire charade, and pulling himself out from underneath the destructive mask of King Wray.

Crippled and tormented, Ike is the tragic antagonist of our story. Once the genre defining musician - 'King Wray', we meet him a broken man, hiding behind a mask of denial and unable to accept reality as a has-been - wheelchair bound as a result of his own recklessness and hedonistic behaviour. He is an impulsive control freak, and a drug addict - but still has the charisma and the wit of a once famous musician and performer.

**For this role guitar playing skills and a good singing voice is a must**
