Sophie MacBean Profile

I am a Scottish actor and dancer with a strong foundation in stage and screen performance. I trained from a young age in Highland dance, tap, ballet, jazz and musical theatre, performing in multiple stage productions and musical theatre shows.

I hold LAMDA Acting qualifications up to Gold Medal with Distinction and completed the Higher Education Acting Certificate at East 15 Acting School. My training includes Stanislavski and Meisner techniques, Grotowski-based physical theatre, neutral mask, larval mask and clown work, as well as stage combat. I have also had the opportunity to train with leading London directors.

My performance experience spans classical and contemporary theatre, including roles such as Queen Roseland in Ubu Roi, alongside devised theatre exploring fairy tales and storytelling through lived experience. I have also worked with texts by William Shakespeare, Oscar Wilde and Anton Chekhov.
