Sophia Roldan-Soto Profile

My name is Sophia, a performing artist from Costa Rica and an enthusiast of politics, cultural studies, reading, and music. I learnt to sing over high school, being part of the students' choir and its consecutive two national championships. I trained impromptu speech in English and decided to move to the UK to immerse myself in the same environments and lives that inspired Shakespeare, Wilde, and Austen. I have two younger sisters that are the light of my life, one on her way to becoming a filmmaker, and I miss my dog dearly.
As a migrant, life in the UK has been challenging, constantly longing for what life could have been should I have stayed in my homeland. But as two years have passed, I am more determined than ever to make our voices matter and our stories be told.
