Rose Benson Profile

As a winner of the BBC Young Reporter Competition 2022 I have had performance experience with a BBC producer, having to work in front of a camera for a scripted report on my life with Dyscalculia. I also had a live BBC interview discussing the subject, having to improvise my talk to educate others.

I have also worked at Peter Pan Moat Brae, a centre for children’s books. Here my role involved performing for visitors in both scripted and improvised acts. I’ve been many iconic characters from the Grinch to the little mouse in the Gruffalo.

I also take part in my local theatre groups, having won the first round in three years of One Act Play festivals. I have also won a ‘Best Moment in Theatre’ award for my performance alone in this competition.

I also partake in open mic nights, usually performing songs I have written on my ukulele.
