My name is Maria Eleni Loiz - though most know me as MEL now that I have moved to London. I have experience in film and stage acting, and have enjoyed acting in drama, psychological thriller, and comedy, though I am always open to new genres. I am fluent in Greek, English, and French, conversational in Spanish, and am adept at a range of accents. My background lies in competitive figure skating and dancing (ballet, contemporary, commercial and jazz), all of which give me a strong, athletic presence and a deep understanding of physical and emotional storytelling, this helps with stage acting and particularly in film acting for thrillers.
My most recent project was playing Eliza Maroon in the Camden Fringe play: 'Eliza Maroon: Your Time is Now!' written and directed by Aaron Low. Stage roles include Jan in Grease, an array of shakespearean villains, and the Queen of Hearts. Other recent film roles include Julia in Flying high, a short film written and directed by Victoria Antunes.
