Julia Strug Profile

Y’all, I struck gold. Growing up in a family that made theatre our favorite pastime has been worth more than any fortune. As a kid in the Houston theatre scene, I was raised on dialogue that pushed past small-town thinking and actors who kept me on my toes, breaking my heart in the stillness of the stage. Art’s ability to linger and reflect back who we are has always captivated me.

During my BFA in Acting at Illinois Wesleyan University (’24), you could usually find me wrestling with my own perspective and values through the characters I played—whether it was the royal weight of the Duchess in The Duchess of Malfi or the raw vulnerability of Amy in Dry Land. Each role taught me to live in my questions and connect deeply with the lives I stepped into.

Off stage and off set, I’m usually blasting The Beatles, recentering with my family over Shabbat lunch, or bartending for friends after a shoot.
