John Slater Profile

I have recently retired as a teacher after 32 years at the chalkface so any jobs in a school would be a doddle. However, we know all teachers are frustrated actors so any jobs, anytime, anywhere would be considered.
The 32 years were spent in just two places. For the first 24 years, I taught basically whatever needed teaching including Business (with Economics), Travel & Tourism, Health & Social Care and ICT. The other 8 years were in a pastoral role and included teaching PSHE topics
Before teaching, I was a Sub-Aqua instructor in Corfu and a Comme Chef in the ski resort of Val Thorens in the French Alps. My working life began in Sales & Marketing in 1982 firstly with BICC and then with Allied Lyons. Between jobs I attended university and did various driving work.
Both of my daughters are professional performers. My eldest, Harriet Slater, has had leading roles in several films/ TV series and my youngest is currently a Singer/Actor on a SAGA cruise ship.
