Content
Casting call for two lead roles in "Thunderstorm," a non-union student short film by ArtCenter College of Design. This project is an adaptation of Cao Yu's play and takes place in the opulent drawing room of a wealthy household in 1890s England. The plot centers on Rose, who is attempting to prevent Adrian, her stepson and former lover, from leaving. What starts as a plea for understanding quickly evolves into a powerful confrontation about love, responsibility, and loyalty to Adrian's father. This intimate two-character piece features prolonged dialogue, attentive listening, and dramatic shifts in power dynamics. Actors of all ethnicities are encouraged to apply; a British accent is not necessary. The narrative involves a historical romantic relationship between two adults, and no scenes will involve kissing or nudity. Any physical interactions will be communicated and agreed upon prior to casting.
