We’re casting the lead role of HASAN for Hasan & the Fish. It's a magic realist queer film that follows Hasan through one strange night as an unwanted fish begins following him from a Bangladeshi restaurant into a queer nightclub.

Hasan is observant, guarded, and a little awkward. Over the course of one night, his relationship with the fish shifts from disgust and embarrassment to something increasingly intimate and surreal.

Hasan is in nearly every frame, and much of the film rests on his physical performance rather than dialogue. We’re looking for a strong performer with subtle screen presence who can move between sensuality and vulnerability without overplaying them.

Speaking Bangla is strongly preferred, though we can work with the right performer on the film’s limited Bangla dialogue.
The role involves kissing, dancing, and extensive interaction with a realistic fish prop. There is no nudity involved. All intimate scenes will be discussed with an intimacy coordinator and carefully choreographed in advance.

Theatre and screen performers are welcome.

Salary

Flat 1000 USD for 3 days of filming.
