A standalone short film from 9thCircle Films, created in partnership with Windsor Forest Colleges Group. The project utilized their recording studio facilities and included students in credited crew positions. The film features a cinematic monologue infused with drama, horror, surrealism, and dream-like logic.

Dates

A two day shoot which includes a substantial amount of time for rehearsal and blocking. To be filmed in Windsor Forest College's recording studio, Windsor. Likely shoot dates are Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September.

Peekaboo is a psychological short built around a single performance. Elsie, an aspiring actress, recounts an argument with her mother before performing an audition piece which secured her a role - Joanna's story, about a child whose white lie leads to a dog attack. In a third section, Elsie speaks of a dream landscape in which a child walks along a beach to a rotten house, watching her mother vanish in mist.

Peekaboo will be shot on a RED with Zeiss lenses. Shadows, occasional superimposed images, sound design and original music will be part of the final film.

The actress would ideally have theatre training and be comfortable with extended camera work. Comedy, a sense of the tragic, depth and technical precision are required for this piece. An excellent performance will be an integral part of the film. A copy of the final film will be available to the performer and can be used without restriction.

Hopefully, this will be a richly creative experience for all involved.
