Roles Details

Title
CHIARA
Content
Chiara is 17 years old and, like many teenagers, has grown up online. Confident, funny, and naturally charismatic, she has a genuine talent for creating content and understanding what captures people’s attention. She is ambitious without necessarily calling herself ambitious, and enjoys the feeling of being seen, heard, and appreciated.

Coming from a household where money has often been tight, the possibility of earning an income through social media feels exciting and empowering. What begins as a hobby quickly becomes something more serious as her audience grows and strangers begin rewarding her attention with gifts, donations, and opportunities.

Chiara does not set out to exploit herself. She believes she is making informed choices and taking control of her image. But as platforms, algorithms, and paying followers begin subtly shaping her behaviour, she finds herself taking small steps into a world she does not fully understand. Each decision feels harmless on its own, yet together they lead her somewhere she never intended to go.

What makes Chiara compelling is that she is neither naïve nor reckless. She is intelligent, self-aware, and genuinely believes she is exercising agency over her own life. The tragedy of the story is that she slowly begins to realise how difficult it is to make her own choices when the incentives placed in front of her are so appealing.
