Grania Pickard Profile

I am an actor, physical theatre performer and director, and Artistic Director of circus-theatre company Oddly Moving. The highlights of my 15 year career have been touring internationally with Ockham's Razor and the creation of two devised touring shows with Oddly Moving.

I take an embodied approach to all of my work, influenced by Le Coq style training and experiences of creating devised work that combines circus and theatre. I retired from performing aerial in 2024 but this physicality still informs my practise.

I am currently working on a solo show 'The Notes Show' about the secrets we tell our phones.

I have a keen interest in Shakespeare having attended workshops with Michael Corbidge and Simon Trinder (ICAT). I've devised a number of experimental short performances that combine aerial and Shakespeare's text. With support from the Arts Council DYCP fund I spent a year researching a feminist aerial adaptation of Macbeth, which is in the pipeline as Oddly Moving's next show.
