Eliza Kim Profile

Eliza Kim is a 1.5 generation Korean American performer, filmmaker, and U.S. Army Reserve Officer born in Los Angeles, raised in Korea until age nine, and returned to Los Angeles where she has lived since. She trained in conservatory theatre at the LACC Theatre Academy, clown and mask at Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre, and Uta Hagen, Michael Chekhov, and Viewpoints at Cal State LA MFA. She has been a student of Gyeonggi folk song at the Korean Traditional Music Institute of America in Los Angeles since 2005. Film credits include Nine Years, recipient of the 2010 Herb Alpert Scholarship and a YoungArts Honorable Mention, Hwihyang, recipient of the Adam D. Kamil Media Grant, and 38 Parallel, winner of Best Writer and Best Experimental at the 2026 Golden Eagle Film Festival. In Drop Dad she is writer, producer, and folk song performer.
