Edie Simpson Profile

Edie Simpson is an actor and writer. She holds a PCertLAM diploma qualification with distinction in Acting with LAMDA. Íde acted in, and produced David Ireland’s Ulster American (Samuel Beckett Theatre), MaMa (Goldsmith’s) and Gay Gatsby (Etcetera Theatre Camden). She has just developed a play which with support from the British council and the Lyric Theatre Belfast as part of the ‘Words Without Borders’ scheme, her play was performed in Mumbai this year. She has just completed a bursary with the Irish Writer’s Centre and is developed a play with them on a 6 week playwriting programme, and was recently published in Fortnight Magazine. Íde is currently devising and acting in ‘Cailíní’ which has been commissioned by the Lyric Theatre in Belfast early this May. She is sporty, adventurous, and other interests aside from acting include: DJing, Running, Boxing, Cooking, Reading, and learning Italian.
