Chhavi Disawar Profile

A Vancouver-based filmmaker is a two-time Canada Council Award recipient for developing her projects focusing on women and culture. She has produced short films like Quarantine Fling, The Call, etc securing funding from prestigious institutions like DGC and VAFF. Chhavi is extremely humbled to do a CMPA mentorship with Baljit Sangra in which she got a chance to work on Baljit's award-winning documentary "Marea Shot Keetha Goal," focusing on South Asians in Ice hockey. Apart from production and writing, Chhavi expands her repertoire with acting mentorship under Catherine Haggquist Lougheed. At the helm of Dark Wine Creatives, her Vancouver-based production company, Chhavi passionately leads a team in collaborative film projects globally, echoing her commitment to impactful storytelling and innovation.
